headline : Tomorrow's Cities: What can be done to improve air quality?
Second
headline
: Part two of our
series "A day in the life of a city" looks at the ways in which
offices are changing and how cities are coping with the ever-growing problem of
pollution.
Every
day, humans breathe oxygen use which must come from clean air. But, the problem
is the existence of expanding human population soaring annually impact on the
surrounding environment. Air pollution, especially in big cities causes
pollution problems seriously enough. According to the United Nations, cities
are huge polluters who are responsible for 70% of the world's carbon emissions.
Quite interesting when discussing the future, how the human survival is
dependent on oxygen as a source for human breath. According to the World Health
Organization, more than 80% of people living in urban areas that monitor water
pollution are exposed to water quality levels that exceed WHO limits. While all
regions of the world are affected, low income populations in cities are the
most impacted. To counteract this, cities are rushing out a whole series of
green initiatives for the sake of human survival in the future.
With
the effort to reduce air pollution, I am quite amazed because there are a lot
of people are not aware of the importance of clean air and the health of a
person is also for the sake of human survival. Various measures were imposed in
every major city in order to reduce air pollution so that everyone who stayed
could enjoy clean air as planting trees to combat pollution. Even Jonathan
Batty, an IBM executive said that it would shut factories for a couple of days
or reducing urban traffic or stopping construction work to reduce air pollution
there. It made me realize the importance of maintaining a source of oxygen such
as trees and do not use items that impact on air pollution for the continuation
of the air is good for health.

Second
headline
: Joko Widodo was
elected as Indonesia's president in July 2014, in a win that marked a sea
change in the country's politics.
As the people of
Indonesia, who does not know this guy? Joko Widodo or Jokowi is often called;
yes he is the number one in the country of Indonesia. This is what attracted me
to read this story. Jokowi pack in July 2014 was elected as the 7th president
of the Republic of Indonesia. Mr. jokowi Began his political career with the
Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) when he was Elected mayor of
Solo in 2005. Mr. Widodo then went run for the position of Jakarta's governor,
winning a resounding victory in 2012. Comes from a humble background makes
Jokowi figure as a role model of most of the Indonesian nation. He was able to
win the presidential election with a decisive victory over former general
Prabowo. In his leadership, he managed to bring change little by little for a
better Indonesia. His government rushed into some policies, such as banning the
sale of alcohol in small shops and Indonesian mandating proficiency among
foreign workers, only to backtrack on them later due to Reviews their
unpopularity or unfeasibility. Also he inspects the work of emergency services
tackling forest fires in the village of Guntung Damar, South Borneo, Indonesia,
September 23, 2015. And still more corpulent achievements are inscribed on this
nation by Mr. Jokowi. But despite it all, not a few who oppose his leadership.
Even critics give warned that he lacked experience in national politics and
international relations.
As an
Indonesian, I am proud of the leadership which he became a role model stout
people, especially young people like me. Mr. Jokowi shows that the background
is not a reference to be successful. Simplicity owned stout pack Jokowi open
the eyes of people that to become a leader does not have to be fancy and have a
high degree of care to the people as long as there is and will remain steadfast
stance. Although there stout criticism of his administration has mounted
following the recent policy stumbles and slower economic growth, but the pack
Jokowi career as the number one kept sparkling.
